Today [eg. the day I started writing this post (2/6)] was a pretty epic day for things like that.
A few years ago, my best friend Marcy moved to Green Bay. Each time I visit her, we swing by Lambeau Field for photo ops and lunch, and she's even taken me to a few games (which is awesome, just so you know.) I don't actually know anything about football-- I get the whole "1st and 10" thing but not much more than that-- but since it's important to her, it's super important to me too.
This is us at Lambeau:
One time, Jamie came to Green Bay with me and we went on a stadium tour all together.
This is us:
Pretty!
I guess here I could clarify that Jamie and Marcy are my best friends and they're both pretty. We don't talk and see each other as much as most best friends, but I totally love them.
But anyway, back to today/the day I started this post.
"Today" I got a text message that I've been waiting for for ages. Jamie had her baby!
Now, I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' no babies. And not just birthin' 'em-- I don't know anything about babies period. I should be embarrassed to admit that I'm nearly 28 and I've changed one diaper in my life, and truthfully I called someone else in for back-up on that. (Feces is gross.)
But this is Jamie's baby. If this kid showed up orange and had a tail, I'd love him. [OMG, he'd be like Puzzle Popple!] I'm not a baby person but I've been pretty excited to meet this little dude. He's already the coolest.
So after that excitement, something else happened: it was Super Bowl Sunday! You know, between the Steelers and the Packers.
It went something like this:
Score: Green Bay. Score: Green Bay. <Football, football, football> Score: Green Bay
In the last 5 minutes or so, the Steelers came back and were only 3 points away, but in the end, the Packers won.
Do you know what that means?
That means that both of my friends have had fantastic days!
Of course, I recognize that my other friends have interests in things I don't know anything about either.
I don't want to look like a jerk playing favorites here (although I totally am) so here's some things I think you guys might like:
Sara likes to sew things and make quilts. I lack the ability to work fabric.
Karen knows all about animals and nature.
(Note: Real-life Karen says the one in the middle is a swan and the other two are white canaries.)
And, of course, all my friends at school who like various arts things that I don't actually know anything technical about. (This would be Jessica, Deyhana, Joannah, Monica, and Rachel.)
If I think about other random things that people I know like, I'll post more.
Until then, learn to love things like this! Woo!
I can't wait to learn about the things you like I don't know anything about! ;)
